Japanese alternative / post-rock legends collaborate for new 7-inch single.
Male and female vocals floating on a post-rock sound, and it makes a perfect harmony. That’s “therefore”, the first new song in three years from acclaimed post-rock trio Spangle call Lilli line (see our first article about them).
For this new song, they featured male vocalist Koji Nakamura from SUPERCAR, a legendary alternative rock band formed in 1997. This male-female twin vocal group broke up in 2005, but Spangle call Lilli line was formed in 1998, and two decades later it’s still going on.
Therefore, “therefore” sounds as if it was SUPERCAR’s new song. It would love to hear more songs from this collaboration.
But first, in January, Spangle call Lilli line will release “Dreams Never End“, their first album in three years. It includes “therefore” and 7-inch B side “so as not to”, which features Steelpan and Trumpet by MC.sirafu from The Natsuyasumi Band.
And as the title suggests, this new album has some songs like early New Order or ’80s new wave sounds.
