Sturi Zevele

Autumn. A small town in the West of Latvia with a glorious past, yet today the atmosphere has shifted to a cosy laziness. This is what Stūrī Zēvele’s music is all about.

Kuldīga breathes in every note of their songs, as if the nature embraces you like it embraces the town. In “Tauriņi” (Butterflies), the flute softly frolics around your head like butterflies in summer or like falling leaves in autumn. As if Stūrī Zēvele captured two seasons in one song.

Then words dazzle as fast as the butterfly’s wing-stroke, like the floating of the Venta through Kuldīga. The music of Stūrī Zēvele brings you back to those peaceful days when you were surrounded by the calm vastness of nature. They give a sound to the Latvian countryside.

Stūrī Zēvele’s recent LP called “Labrīt!” is available on their Bandcamp profile. You can also join them on Facebook and Twitter.
