Phum Viphurit

“A song I wrote about my encounters with dishonest people and the desire to hold on to things that are unobtainable,” that’s how Phum Viphurit describes his second single “Trial & Error”. A song that certainly shows no trace of dishonesty.

The 19-years-old songwriter was born in Thailand and is currently based in Bangkok, but he spent his teenage years in Hamilton in New Zealand’s northern island.

That could explain his ambiguous style. It blends the intimacy of acoustic folk rock with emotional intensity fuelled by his sweeping voice – one that fans of Jeff Buckley or Antony Hegarty will immediately fell in love with.

At some point, the song thickens up into an almost-orchestral peak. And for a while, you could almost see a stadium filled with thousands of people completely drawn to his voice.

As this vision might be not as far away to come true as we (or Phum) could think, let’s enjoy this extremely talented singer while he’s still searching and trying. No errors yet.
