The Wisely Brothers

Tokyo-based three-piece The Wisely Brothers started as a cover band, but with each consecutive EP are gradually becoming on of the leading young female bands in Japan.

“What I should say… Her music is comical and funny, but romantic. I like her romanticism so much. And her music is catchy, same time it has very deep bottom” – they said about Frankie Cosmos in an interview with Mikiki, and actually played as a supporting act at her concert in Japan in March 2017.

The Wisely Brothers is not tribute band of The Isley Brothers but three-girl outfit, which was formed at a high school club activity. At first, they played covers of the Japanese female band CHATMONCHY.

Their latest single “Thursday”, comes off their new 4-track EP titled “Hemming”, which The Wisely Brothers released at the end of March.

Earlier this year, they also released a couple of new videos off their previous (second) EP, “Seaside 81” (シーサイド81), including “Tetsudou” – which you can stream below – with whispering vocals and a retrospective guitar sound that make our hearts flutter sweetly.

The Wisely Brothers are gradually starting to be regarded as one of the next nationwide female bands like Negoto or Shishamo.
