Filipino indie-pop group We Are Imaginary celebrate their 10th anniversary with a new video aptly titled “Dekada”.
You might already know the “loud and proud” group We Are Imaginary from our Best of 2015 list for the Philippines. The quartet of Ahmad (vocals/guitars) and Khalid Tanji (guitars/backing vocals), Vhall Bugtong (bass guitar/backing vocals) and Apa Rubio (drums) has been steadily perfecting their guitar-driven style that combines catchy riffs and atmospheric vocals.
“Dekada” is their long-awaited new single after 2016 album “Death to Romanticism”. It was first relased as an audio track in May and now enhanced by an official video directed by Jemimah Dadula. It’s the band’s gift to all of their fans (count us in!) for the 10th anniversary of We Are Imaginary. Which is quite a lot, the musicians admit, in these times of fast-forward, skip and swipe.
What do you wish a band like that for their 10th birthday? Probably one more decade, and keep being imaginative.
