This band from Jakarta plays a 70’s pop-fashioned music known for covers of Indonesian traditional songs and campaigning for the preservation of the Indonesian cultural heritage.
“Tam Tam Buku” is a traditional Malay game played by singing. The song itself used to be sung in various dialects – it is known as “Trang Trang Kolantrang” in Sunda (West Java) and “Chock Chock Kundong” in Malaysia.
This version was recorded live at Lokananta Studio which used to be the top recording studio in Indonesia – until it’s been recently closed.
