Trio Ponk named their debut album “Postfolklor”. In fact, it is not only a name of a record but we can consider it a name of their unique musical genre, too.

Using traditional folkloric instruments like contrabass, violin and xylophone, Ponk processes and transforms motives of south-Moravian folkloric music into a modern perspective.

A ballad “Göding”, sung in the south-Moravian dialect and telling a story about a deep love, which even a drowning can´t terminate, manifests Ponk´s musical vision in completeness.

Main contrabass line pulsates as an eletronic beat and acute melody is as dense and urgent as any intense guitar song. Two different worlds united into one, old traditions for the most modern listener.
