Latest single of Tehran-based singer-songwriter and cello player Shahrzad Beheshtian – also known as Scheherazad – is a winter song called “Sag-e Zemestan”, which means “Winter Dog”.
A vintage-style song with poetic lyrics – written by herself – describes the presence of winter and dancing of snowflakes.
The words are accompanied by the touching sound of accordion resembles Iranian traditional pop songs of 50s and 60s, but with a minimal and creative approach which has turned it to something new.
This song has two guest musician: Makan Ashgevari (second vocal) and Sardar Sarmast (on accordion). “Sag-e Zemestan” is also recorded by Makan, whose album was on our list of the best albums of 2016.
