Pavlos Pavlidis & B-Movies

It’s the third time we present Pavlos Pavlidis and his band on beehype. It seems that he is not only one of the most favorite artists in Greece, but much beloved to quite a lot of listeners abroad as well – although he sings exclusively in Greek.

In his new sixth album that was released in spring, Pavlos Pavlidis (Παύλος Παυλίδης) goes through his familiar elements to approach the listener with his honest, gently voice, romantic and dreamy lyrics, and the – mainly acoustic – lilting recordings, which come next to some sensitive ballads.

Love, flowers, guns, birds, dreams, abandoned stations, trains, tree-houses, illuminated signs, dogs, kids, stars, mermaids, journeys and thoughts are all grafted to these 12 songs of “Μια Πυρκαγιά Σ’ Ένα Σπιρτόκουτο” (“A Fire Into A Matchbox”), the new album that is wonderfully illustrated by Stefanos Rokos‘ outstanding painting works of “Observing The Circles” and “Machines”.

During the last two months Pavlos Pavlidis & B-Movies released not just one, but two inspirational videos to accompany two of the most touching songs that came out of the album.

The first one, the melodious “Έλα Κοντά Μου”, was directed by Antonis Morgan Konstantoudakis. And the second one, the moving self-titled “Μια Πυρκαγιά Σ’ Ένα Σπιρτόκουτο”, directed by Alexandros Voulgaris who is known for his addictive musical compositions as The Boy.

Grab a seat, these two videos surely deserve 7’50” of your time!

You can stream “Μια Πυρκαγιά Σ’ Ένα Σπιρτόκουτο” LP in its entirety on Bandcamp.
