Zá is a singer from São Paulo who is betting on the internet to promote her songs. Instead of releasing a full album and then work with singles and music videos, she gives out new material directly as video clips starting from the end of the last year.

This way, Zá demonstrates she’s not attached to physical format. And it’s somehow reminiscent of her art, as if the singer herself remained loose in the air.

Zá’s singing has an undeniable pop appeal mixed with delicacy borrowed from jazz. The interesting thing is how her voice seems natural and free of pretentiousness.

The song “Valência” was written by Daniel Marques as he walked through the city of Valencia in Spain. Directed by Agência Ophelia, the black-and-white clip features images of São Paulo in a simple and poetic way, as is the voice of Zá.
