Evident

Deeptech? Leftfield house? Organic tech house? Check out the debut album by Ljubljana-based electronic producer Evident.

This 24-year old producer started his career under his real name Blaž Peruš but decided to change it later. The word “evident” stuck with him after reading “How Music Works” written by David Byrne.

Nowadays Evident is not only a producer but also a curator of the label Soundhitectures and part of the team behind the Solvdmag webzine. Currently he has a monthly residency with Solvdmag at the legendary Klub K4 in Ljubljana.

He just released his debut album “Mysteries We Don’t Have Time to Think About”. Blaž describes his sound as deeptech, leftfield house or organic tech house. Actually the word “organic” seems quite important for him as he prefers untypical club sound, preferably performed live.

So it’s no surprise he names artists like Trentemøller, Nicholas Jaar and David August as his main inspiration. Another inspiration of his is being a “typical rebel”, who seems to be happy researching different sounds and genres.

His debut is, in his own words, a result of remixing his own ideas and sketches into final versions in the first two months of 2017. As he mentions he likes to work fast and make quick decisions.

No wonder his album is 15 songs heavy and was premiered through 15 different webzines and music channels.

Stream “Mysteries We Don’t Have Time to Think About” on Soundcloud.
