During the first ten years of his career as a singer, Eric Linder – alias Polar – gave birth to three beautiful albums of English folk-pop for intimate nights.
After subtle variations on the theme, he abandoned it for two vivid pop-rock albums with Francophile melodies. Five years after “French Songs”, Polar prefers to rhyme in the language of Shakespeare rather than Molière’s.
“Empress” is Polar’s sixth album in 16 years. Irish-born, Geneva-based artist creates panoramic, bright and exploratory landscapes with the melodic strength of pop, rock’s intensity and folk roots. It’s a majestic link between his past and present experiences driven by the energy of a live band. And it sounds like a new beginning for Polar.
