Weval is an Amsterdam based producer duo compromised out of Harm and Merijn who met at film academy back in 2010. Since then, they’ve been cooking up addictive electronic music melting pop with house and techno.
In the past couple of years they released some amazing EPs, but finally Weval released their long-awaited self-titled debut record this month on the acclaimed German label Kompakt. While the 12 pieces comprising the LP show a multitude of inspirations from past and present, all of them follow the chief paradigm of “finding the beauty in imperfection”.
“The Battle” was the first track we got to hear from this album, a moody slow-burner combining soothing melodies with eery vocals. Not to be missed by fans of soothing techno mixed with eerie minimal pop.
